The deputy minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), Ho Anh Tuan proposed visa exemption for Indian travelers at an India-Vietnam tourism and aviation cooperation conference held in Hanoi.

Notably, 120 travel agents from both the countries shared intricacies in sending Indian travelers to Vietnam and vice versa, including the need of direct flights, sophisticated visa process, high ticket prices and so on.

Indian Ambassador to Vietnam, Ms Preeti Saran said that initiating direct flights between the two nations and relaxing visa granting process will attract more tourists from Vietnam and vice versa.

Leaders from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and MCST responded to the queries related to policies and accepted specific plans to increase bilateral tourism cooperation.

In a bid to move towards the Indian market, VNAT and MCST have planned to boost tourism in India between 2015 and 2020 period, focusing on initiating products and tourism sites on various manuals and posters, participating in overseas tourism fairs in India and promoting tourism at economic events and so on.

The Deputy Minister of MCST, Tuan anticipates that India and Vietnam will sign an agreement with regards to tourism cooperation and boost economic, tourism and cultural exchanges.
