The government of India is on the job of including Mauritius as one of the countries which are listed in the VoA scheme. Sushma Swaraj, external minister described the mutual ties absolutely exclusive.

At the inauguration of international conference, the external minister said Mauritius was the largest and the first conferee to bound labor from India, and anchored in the imprinted 16 steps of the Aapravasi Ghat by Indians who first land in that country 180 years ago.

Sushma Swaraj praising India round the world said that, the country is extremely proud of its flow of refugee across the world and its achievements in different fields when it comes to political, cultural, scientific and economic. The country has always supported Mauritius in researches and preserves its history.
