CFIB recommends a special Visa to reinstate temporary foreign worker program

In the recently released report of federal government, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) called for revamping of TFWP (Temporary Foreign Worker Program) with the new Canada visa to meet labor scarcity in the country.

Canadian Federation of Independent Business further noted that launching of new Canada visa would decrease the shortage of overseas skilled workers in small business, if they could provide a clear pathway for permanent residence in the country.

President of CFIB, Dan Kelly said that the economy of the country increases if people from overseas nations take an opportunity to work, live and start their new life in the country with their family members. He further added that opportunities of Canada visa will be declared again and an individual applying for this visa is not required to hold any PhD qualification.

Due to controversies and false beliefs surrounding the TFWP, some changes which were uncalled, such that cutting off of crucial lifeline of many small business workers of retail, restaurant and hotel domains. So, to help the small business holders from such problems, launching of new Canada visa is considered as a best solution to resolve their issues, according to CFIB new report.

Kelly added that replacing of temporary skilled workers in place of permanent labors is not legally correct. He also said that small business would employ skilled workers who are permanent. However, the new Canada permanent migration system won’t allow small business to hire individuals with small skill levels even for entry level jobs.

CFIB further quoted that the skilled workers from overseas nations will be given the entry level job opportunities and will be granted permanent residency after two years of stay in the country. Apart from the introduction of new Canadian visa, the report also advises few other alternatives like allowing the present candidates for permanent residency in the country, enabling more adaptability for retailers, hotels and restaurants and to make changes in new $1,000 fee.
