The Canadian embassy in Doha has expanded its visa application process to VFS Global. The new Canadian visa application centre (CVAC) was administered by Mannai Corporation. Farukh Sardar, general manager of Mannai Air Travel division, revealed that CVAC will soon process all provisional resident applications such as visitor visas, study, work permits and travel document applications from Canadian permanent residents in Qatar.

VFS Global has disclosed a statement in press release that it would set up a network of up to 125 CVACs Globally.

Sardar said that the visa efficiency would surely change everything including trade; he noted that Canadian embassy had agreed to give the centre estimates of about 3,000 applications per a quarter.

However, Farukh Sardar the general manager of travel destination believes that more than the estimated residents will visit Doha centre, as it is not so easy to go to Abu Dhabi to apply. At present the CVAC does not have any idea on the number of students who are about to study in Canada as like other outsourcing companies, said Sardar.  The immigration authorities of Citizenship and Immigration Canada have right to accept and decline the visa applications based on visa rules and regulations.

All the managerial support services of collecting the necessary documents and returning the passports in a sealed envelope covers to applicants will be done by visa application centers.

Sardar further revealed that the CVAC also assists in scheduling interviews on behalf of the Canadian visa office. He also stressed that they do not process immigrant visas. Visa center which was initiated on October 22 accepts applications only between 9am to 4pm (except listed holidays) and allows collecting the visa between 3pm to 5pm, as its business hours are from 9am to 5pm Sunday to Thursday.

With Qatar Airways, all the UAE and Oman nationals can travel to UK just by registering in Online through the Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW) 48 hours in advance without applying for any visa, the official said. As soon as you get registered for e-ticket, the system automatically sends an email containing printed copy of e-ticket to enter or exit form UK. The email containing the PDF document can be accessed anywhere in the world.

The British embassy has noted that it recorded an increase in the number of visitors from UAE, Qatar and Oman.

The embassy of French had told that they have recorded more than 16,000 aspirants in the first nine months of 2013 and more than 15,000 aspirants in 2012.

The French, British, Australian and Canadian visa application centres also run from the Jaidah Square building.
